All proceeds benefit ALS Texas to help discover treatments and a cure for ALS as well as supporting those in our ALS community.

Heather's Heroes is named after Heather Cleveland who is a life-long resident of Weatherford. She attended Weatherford High School where she was a member of the varsity tennis team. Heather was the founder/owner of The Pan Handle in Granbury for 23 years as well as being a Parker County Wine grape grower for 10 years. She was also an avid runner and biker competing in numerous bike races, 5k's, 10k's and half marathons before being diagnosed. Heather is also proud to hold the title of Parker County Master Gardener.

If you're like us, all you may have known about ALS up until this point was the Ice Bucket Challenge and the names Lou Gehrig and Stephen Hawking. Heather and her family and friends got a crash course in ALS when she was diagnosed on May 3rd, 2021. It opened their eyes to how prevalent and devastating this disease really is. Please consider joining Heather's Heroes in The Walk to Defeat ALS. Our team is committed to raising funds to support those in our ALS community as well as spreading awareness of the urgency to find a cure. Walk with us to honor those currently battling ALS and to remember those we've lost.

Heather is still fighting and we all thank you!

ABOUT ALS

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
