Join us for our fourth annual Mardi Gras Festival in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. This free, family-friendly event will feature jazz music, gumbo contest, face painting, crafts for kids, and great food. Let the good times roll!

GUMBO CONTEST GUIDELINES
DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS FEBRUARY 11.
- Contestants may enter up to 3 recipes.
- Chefs will bring their pre-cooked gumbo and a warmer to room 103 in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Contestants need to be set up by 5:30.
- Room FINE 103 will be available for chefs beginning at 4 pm.
- Chefs should be ready to provide samples for the four judges by 5:45 pm.
- Please bring your own ladles for serving gumbo.
- Rice, bowls, and spoons will be provided to guests.
- Electrical hook-ups for warmers are provided.
- Chef Eben Lee Hall will be the gumbo contest monitor.
- Judges will pick their three top gumbos.
- Winners will be announced at 7:30 in the Alkek Theater.
- Prizes for First, Second, and Third place will be awarded at that time.
- PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DECORATE YOUR ENTRY/AREA AS YOU DESIRE!
